Safety Screen Sheet“ZONE SAVER”
Safety Screen Sheet“ZONE SAVER”
The zone saver is a device for color-coding an objective zone apart from neighboring zones, when inspecting features of electric systems, like the electric current in switchboards, monitoring panels, and control panels. Systems may include generators, power plants, operation sections, transformer substations, and general controls.
SALIENT FEATURES
- 1/ One-touch operation allows easy delimitation by colors
- 2/ Scroll function allows easy setting at a desired position
- 3/ Outstanding fire prevention characteristics (complying with Article 4, Section 3 of the Enforcement Order of the Fire Defense Law)
- 4/

Safety Management Using "ZONE SAVER" Safety Sheet
Using safety sheets of different colors for each device in panels will decrease the potential for human errors, reducing the risk of accidents, and shortening working time. That, in turn, reduces costs. “Zone Saver”safety sheets are indispensable for efficient safety management.
●Installation and removal of protective materials takes excessive time.
●Transport, installation and removal of protective materials increases the risk of accidents from electrical discharges, ground contact or short-circuits.
●Most of the panels in the central control panel room or in the relay equipment room are installed in lines, and identification of each unit is difficult inside the panels. In addition, machines are commonly arranged into terminal blocks by machine, but actual indications are not clearly shown, which results in errors in identification of the units.
This structural arrangement increases the possibility of trouble due to unit misidentification.
Control Practice
Inspection and repair jobs are carried out frequently inside the panels. So it is necessary to carry out the following jobs in advance.
-
Protection of circuits

Protection of components

Proposal
Installation of protective sheets on the panel surface and panel interior will protect the panel and contribute to the prevention of accidents caused by mistakes in unit identification.

- ●The roll screen (electrostatic/fire preventing) is installed inside the Zone Saver Box. By pulling down the roll screen, the zone in concern can be distinguished from adjacent panels.
-
●Characteristics of the sheet
・Easy operation, the pulling pole is used to pull down and to easily roll up the sheet.
・Scroll functions for setting at the required position.
・High transparency for accurate verification of measuring gauges and indicating lamps.
・Electrostatic prevention characteristics (specific surface resistance:106Ω).
・Outstanding fire prevention characteristics.
・(complying with Article 4, Section 3 of the Enforcement Order of the Fire Defense Law)
-
●Characteristics of the product
Clear identification of the limits of the electric distribution panels outside the operation range prevents mistakes in operation such as"wrong verification" or "wrong operation." - ●Install in place of the nameplate/NP.BD on the panel
-
●Installation places
Nuclear plants, Transformer substations, Generators, Transformers, Power plants, Switching stations, General control stations, Electric power centers, Technical centers.
